In November 2017 a new biography about Gottfried von Einem will be published by Kremayr und Scheriau: Gottfried von Einem. Komponist der Stunde null. Author Joachim Reiber, an expert in thoroughly investigated artists’ lives, follows the career of von Einem from his first years in pre-World War II Germany over the huge success with the “Death of Danton” (“Dantons Tod”) at the Salzburg Festival in 1947 – when von Einem was only 29 years old – to his late operas and gives a deep insight in the psychological backgrounds of the works.
